Dear gentle readers and avid rom-com watchers, both of noble birth and citizens, here is the latest announcement of a Duke sighting. This time, however, it won't be on the small telly screens you all call laptops, but rather, on the appropriate big cinematic screens in just a few months.

British actor Regé-Jean Page, more commonly known amongst the Bridgerton crew as the Duke of Hastings, or Simon Basset if you like, is set to appear in the upcoming Universal Pictures romantic comedy, You, Me & Tuscany, alongside American actress, singer, and former Little Mermaid, Halle Bailey.

What is You, Me & Tuscany about?

Anna (Halle Bailey), a young, free-spirited chef, meets an Italian man, Matteo (Lorenzo de Moor), who tells her he has an abandoned property in Tuscany. Making the brashest decision of her life, Anna decides to move to Italy and squat in Matteo's house, not realising that it might not be as abandoned as she thinks.

Anna then meets Matteo's family, who wrongly believe her to be Matteo's fiancée and who welcome her into the family without a doubt. But more trouble brews for Anna as she meets Matteo's cousin, Michael, who is none other than the former Duke himself, Regé-Jean Paget.

Anna must now face the consequences of her actions as several hilarious antics ensue, including an opportunity to expand her knowledge within the glorious Tuscan scenery, as well as by growing closer to Michael. With palpable chemistry and one swoon-worthy scene after another, You, Me & Tuscany seems to be a worthy riot to watch.

Movie trivia

Directed by acclaimed director Kat Coiro (Life Happens, And While We Were There) and written by Ryan Engle (Rampage, Beast), the film's idea is an original by Engle and his wife, Kristin Engle, who are also executive producers.

The original film's title was revealed to be Italianna, for those gentle readers who might have caught this name elsewhere and should know it is indeed the same film. In November 2025, according to People, the film was retitled to You, Me & Tuscany.

As it was formerly mentioned, we all know René-Jean Paget as the mysterious, unapproachable, and later, dazzling Duke of Hastings on the first season of the beloved Netflix period drama series, Bridgerton. Paget has also starred in The Grey Man, Black Bag, and Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves.

For her part, our leading lady, Halle Bailey, is known to us all as the daring, adventurous, and iconic mermaid Ariel in Disney's live-action film in 2023. Bailey also starred in The Color Purple and The Line, both released in 2023.

Alongside Paget, Bailey, and de Moor, the cast is rounded up by Marco Calvani, Isabella Ferrari, and Nia Vardalos. The latter is mainly known for her work in the My Big Fat Greek Wedding series as Toula Portokalos.

You, Me & Tuscany release date

The film is set to be released by Universal Pictures in the United States on April 10, 2026. So, gentle audience, don't miss the Duke's next enterprise.

Alas, you all can repeatedly watch the official film trailer right here in the meantime, too. Ta.
