Droughtlander may be ongoing, but today is a big day to celebrate in the world of the universe. It’s World Outlander Day. Every year on June 1 we mark this date.
Today is a special day as well. Later on, we’ll get more information about Outlander: Blood of My Blood, the prequel spinoff series that will offer us two love stories in two different times. It’s time to learn more about Claire and Jamie’s parents with this series.

Why today is World Outlander Day
If you’ve only watched the series, then June 1 won’t mean too much to you. After all, Outlander season 1 premiered on Aug. 9, 2014. That is a big date, though, and it makes sense that Outlander: Blood of My Blood will premiere as close to that date as possible, on Aug. 8, 2025.
World Outlander Day is connected more to the books than the series, but it has become a big date for all Sassenachs. This was the date the first ever Outlander novel was published back in 1991.
Without the books, there wouldn’t be a series. We wouldn’t have Claire and Jamie’s love story, which has transformed into something much bigger than ever first expected. After all, Outlander wasn’t going to be originally published, as Diana Gabaldon did it to push herself more than anything else.

Get ready for the Outlander: Blood of My Blood live stream
Today’s World Outlander Day is much bigger, though. We’ll get a livestream for Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will feature the cast of both the original cast and the cast of the new series.
There aren’t many details about what we can expect in the livestream, which will begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT tonight, June 1. Maybe we’ll get a full trailer for Outlander: Blood of My Blood, as we’ve only had a teaser trailer so far. And there is hope that the cast of the two shows will chat about things to come for Jamie and Claire’s parents.

It’s not just Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan who will join the new cast, either. We’ll get to see the likes of Sophie Skelton, John Bell, Charles Vandervaart, and more. This gives us a great chance to see all the different generations within the series. Jamie gets to meet the younger version of his parents while with his son!
And yes, Matthew B. Roberts and Maril Davis will also be involved in the livestream, which offers hope of some teases of things to come in this new prequel.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood: The Gathering will take place tonight, Sunday, June 1 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
Stay up to date with the latest Outlander news with Claire and Jamie.
