It’s probably not surprising that Le Comte St. Germain has a lot of questions in The Space Between Section 42 breakdown. We still have a lot of questions.

Le Comte and Master Raymond seem to forget that there is anyone else around. I was curious about that at first, and it took until the next short part to tell me what was really going on here. At least we got some information, though!

Breaking down The Space Between Section 42

Master Raymond takes the time to explain the blue light. Now Le Comte St. Germain is even more confused, as he thinks about Claire and Melisande, who we know as Geillis. He starts to think about how anyone with the blue light is a son or daughter of Master Raymond. Finally, this is the part of the story that explains more of who Master Raymond is and why he took such a liking to Claire Fraser.

Le Comte has a lot of questions, though. He wants to know more about immortality and traveling forward in time. These are questions that he has had all story, so it’s not surprising that he’s asking them all. Le Comte explains that he has all these gems, and he doesn’t know what to do with them all or where he can go.

Master Raymond explains that time travel is dangerous. We know that already, but it’s interesting that Master Raymond brings it up. Le Comte doesn’t care about that. Even if he dies in the journey, he still wants to try. In a way, this shows just how ahead of his time he is. A lot of people would be terrified by this power and the chances of dying, but Le Comte is too fascinated with it all.

In the end, Raymond reluctantly agrees to show Le Comte St. Germain more.

Could this section be used in a TV adaptation?

Oh yes, we would need this section to be used if the short story was ever adapted. There are too many details about time travel and the rules of the universe to skip over this. We also get more information about Master Raymond and how all time travelers are connected to him.

Now I would love to know how it all started with him. How did he make it possible to time travel? I feel like we need a Master Raymond series for that, and adapting The Space Between and including this section would help to raise more interest to bring us a Master Raymond spin-off series.
