When Pete learned that Evie was pregnant, there was a slim hope that it was his. What does he learn in The Couple Next Door season 1, episode 5?

Moving into the neighborhood was the worst thing for Pete and Evie to do. It’s tearing their marriage apart, and Evie doesn’t even seem to care. She’s too obsessed with Danny.
Pete has learned that Evie is pregnant, and he starts the episode confronting her with the news. Evie said that she and Danny didn’t do anything that night, but Pete has his doubts. Those doubts become a reality when he learns that Evie’s baby isn’t his. The baby has to be Danny’s, and that means Evie lied.
Pete gives Evie an ultimatum she hates in The Couple Next Door season 1, episode 5
Pete and Evie go out for dinner to a restaurant they have always said they should try. However, it doesn’t end up with them making up. Pete shares what he has learned about the baby, and that’s when the truth has to come out.
Pete gives Evie an ultimatum. If she wants their marriage to work, she needs to agree to cutting contact with Danny and Becka and getting rid of the baby. I’m not on board with the ultimatum of an abortion, but I understand where Pete is coming from. He’s angry at the entire situation, and he can’t raise a child that isn’t his. Not with the way this baby has come about. It’s an affair baby, at the end of the day.
Evie isn’t going to terminate the pregnancy, though. Instead, she goes to see Danny at his work, and they have another passionate moment. Danny makes it clear that this can’t happen again. He loves Becka, and he is going to choose her. Evie tries to talk to him again later on, but he’s not having any of it.
Danny does have more important things to deal with right now, though. He also has Pete to deal with.
Danny agrees to be Pete’s source in The Couple Next Door
Pete is retaliating against Danny as well. He knows that Danny is involved in something fishy. Pete wants to expose Spencer, but he needs Danny to help him. So, he makes it clear that either Danny helps or Danny is pulled into it all as well.
Danny and Gary head out on a mission to get the diamonds back. They’re in a bank safe, and with the key that Danny stole in the episode before, they’re able to put together a plan to get the diamonds. Gary has to step in and fight the mobsters, but Danny gets away and is able to take photos for Pete and Sophie’s front page scoop.
This is going to come back to hurt Danny, though. As Spencer figures out who wrote the story that got him arrested, he sends a guy to Pete’s house. Fortunately, Danny steps out of the house to protect Pete, but a very drunken Pete puts Danny in the middle of the mess by exposing Danny as his source. Well, now Spencer can come after the two of them.
I think even in his anger Danny realizes that Pete is wasted. Danny knows that Evie is pregnant, and he likely realizes that Pete knows as well and knows that it’s Danny’s child. Danny still wants to protect Pete in all this.
Becka finds out who leaked the video
Danny has also been doing work on getting the IP address of the person who put the blog up. Sure enough, it all leads back to Alan, and Becka decides to confront him. Alan isn’t sorry at all for what he’s done. All he cares about is not being a nobody.
Becka tells June what Alan has done, leading to June admitting that she had a feeling Alan had been stalking Becka. She now admits that Alan did break into the house, but she had no idea what Alan actually did with the photos and the videos.
When June goes back home, she decides to go upstairs and looks through the desk drawers. Due to his stroke, every piece of evidence of Alan hiding things is up there. June finds a savings account that has more than £50,000 in it. What will June do with that money?
Becka has also learned all about Danny’s other child. This child is a little older, and Becka decides that she and the child’s mother need to decide on the next steps. Becka doesn’t blame the woman. She’s angry that Danny kept so much from her. Becka knows that the child is innocent in all of this, and he needs to meet his half-brother. That’s if he wants to. And yes, of course he does. Out of all the bad, two boys are going to find each other in all of this, and that should be a good thing.
Out of all of this, I really feel for Becka and Pete. They didn't ask for anything that has happened. Becka should get to live her private life in the way she wants. She wasn't hurting anyone, and when Pete said he couldn't go through with the lifestyle, she respected that. Evie and Danny are the ones hurting people for their own gain, although I do believe Evie really needs some help mentally as all this started with the loss of the baby.
