With Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1 now at an end, we’re enter another Droughtlander. Or BomBlander, as I’ve seen it written elsewhere. Outlander fans are used to the long breaks, and it usually means looking for more shows to check out.
There are some excellent offerings across the streaming networks. It all depends on the side of Blood of My Blood that you want to enjoy, whether it’s the romance, the time travel, or the history.
Of course, Outlander is something to watch, and early 2026 will bring the final season of that series. But what about other shows? We have you covered.

Peaky Blinders
One of the parts of Outlander: Blood of My Blood that I enjoyed was watching how the family drama played out at the start of the season. We knew that Colum and Dougal had to end up agreeing to working together for Clan MacKenzie, but we needed to see how the decision was made considering it hadn’t been done in the clan before.
Peaky Blinders offers something similar with a family getting together. In that series, it’s a crime show, with the Shelby family being a gang. However, there are still power struggles, sacrifices, and difficult decisions to be made.
There are six seasons of Peaky Blinders on Netflix, with a movie and two more seasons to come!
Reign
We’re heading back to the world of CW dramas for the next one on the list. Reign (very loosely) follows the life of Mary, Queen of Scots. In other words, the mother of James VI of Scotland, who would go on to lead to Bonnie Prince Charlie. In Reign, though, the series follows Mary in the French court, as she gets ready for marry Francis.
Over the course of four seasons, we follow her attempt to overthrow plots designed to take her down. There are threats from inside France, across the rest of mainland Europe, and from Scotland and England. Real historical figures are included, including Queen Elizabeth I and Catherine de Medici.
All four seasons of Reign are on Prime Video.

Belgravia
Are you in the mood for something that involves a bit more romance while set in the past with real historical events? Belgravia is the show, which starts off on the fateful night of 15/16 June, 1815. It’s just two days before the Battle of Waterloo, which would change everything in Europe.
James and Anne Trenchard are invited to the ball, and they decide that this could be their way to move up in society. After all, they are from new money, thanks to their newfound trading success. Along the way, their daughter Sophia catches the eye of Edmund Belllasis, the heir to one of England’s richest and most prominent families, and you just know this ball is going to bring secrets and drama.
Watch Belgravia on BritBox or MGM+.

Timeless
When it comes to the time travel aspect of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, I have to recommend Timeless. The series takes viewers to other time periods, whether it’s the 1692 Salem Witch Trials or the 1937 Hindenburg disaster.
It all starts with a team heading to different points in history to prevent one man from changing everything. After all, one small change leads to major changes in the present, and only those who have been traveling through time will remember the old history. How far would you go to protect the timeline that we’re currently in?
Stream the two seasons and the movie of Timeless on Tubi and Prime Video.

Vikings
Let’s head much further into the past than Outlander: Blood of My Blood, to a time when England was invaded by the Vikings. Well, actually, we start in Norway, when the Vikings didn’t even know what was West of their land. There’s a push for exploration and pillaging, but not everyone wants to risk the open waters.
Throughout the series, we see different people go off and explore lands. There is a change of power within Kattegat, and we get to see how one decision can lead to people having to choose sides, even choose their parents. You can continue the story with Vikings: Valhalla, which is set 100 years after the events of Vikings and continues the topic of exploration and war.
Vikings and Vikings: Valhalla are on Netflix.
