We took a break from the Outlander Book Club while Outlander: Blood of My Blood aired, but we have some exciting news. With the prequel series over and us all back into Droughtlander, we will head back into the book club.
Of course, this comes with some bad news. We are onto the last of the Outlander novellas by Diana Gabaldon. She is working on the 10th book in the main Outlander story, and she does have other books in the works as well, but this is the last of the published books that we have available to read right now.
When will we start A Fugitive Green?
The last of the novellas is A Fugitive Green by Diana Gabaldon, and we’ll start that in November. We’ll start on Tuesday, Nov. 4, as we like to do the book club during the week. Now, yes, we do usually like to start on the Monday of the week, but there’s a reason we’re opting for this particular date.
It’s the anniversary of when Outlander season 4 premiered on STARZ. I was initially going to start the book club a day earlier, but I just thought that this would be better.
We’ll still run on the weekdays, which will mean the weekends are available to catch up on the story or get ahead to stay on top each day of the next week.
What is A Fugitive Green about?
We’ve had stories about Claire and Jamie, Lord John Grey, and even Ian Murray. Well, it’s time to get a story about someone we met in one of the previous Lord John Grey books. It’s all about Minnie Grey, but before she became a Grey.
At the age of 17, Minnie Rennie was sent from Paris to England by her father, in an attempt to get medieval books of devotion, incunabula, and any secrets that would link to political figures or the finance of the country. Of course, she was a spy, and it’s a backstory that was alluded to in the main books.
While in England, Minnie met Harold Grey, a recently widowed man who happens to be on the deranged side. After all, he was dealing with a lot when it came to the death of his first wife, and many men would start to struggle. We know that Harold and Minnie would eventually get married, but how did that come about? It’s time that we learned the truth.
Our read-through of A Fugitive Green will start on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
