William out of uniform in the Outlander Season 8 leaked photos tells us a lot
The leaked photos from the filming of Outlander Season 8 certainly have us wondering about stories that are to come. One of those is all about William, and the leaked photos show us something important.
The photos appear to be taken from the last two episodes of Outlander Season 8. That’s the last two episodes of the series! It’s hard to tell what storylines will be covered, since we know Season 8 will cover Book 9 and then wrap up the story. However, William’s clothing tells us a lot about something to come for him.
William is not in uniform in the Outlander Season 8 photos
Whenever we’ve seen characters who are in the military, they have been dressed in their British Army clothing. The only time we’ve seen characters out of that clothing is when they’re either out of the Army or they are working undercover.
Sure enough, there were a couple of episodes in Outlander Season 7A when William wore civilian clothing. He was sending messages on behalf of Captain Richardson, and he had to do it covertly.
He’s back in civilian clothing in the Outlander Season 8 photos, and this tells us something important is going to happen soon.
William resigns after learning the truth in the Outlander books
William learns the truth about Jamie being his father in Written in My Own Heart’s Blood. This is something that fans have been excited to see him learn in the TV series, knowing what it means for his overall story. It looks like he does considering the clothing choices.
After learning he is not the son of an earl, William resigns from the British Army. He removes his red coat and starts wearing civilian clothing. It would suggest that this storyline is going to come up, finding us with William figuring out who he is now as he learns his true parentage.
It’s not easy for William. He goes through a major identity crisis. Who is he if he’s not the biological son of the Earl? Who is he when he is actually the illegitimate son of Jamie Fraser? How did that happen? Was his mother raped? He has so many questions, which are understandable. Of course, he has the Fraser stubbornness when it comes to learning the truth, and that means disappearing from everyone who loves him for the longest time.
In the end, he starts to reconcile with who he is and what it all means for him. At the end of Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, he does turn to Jamie Fraser for help, and it looks like we’ll get to see the aftermath of that in Outlander Season 8.
