Outlander Season 7B will arrive sometime this year. If you want to get ahead, you need to know which books to read.
The first half of the season wrapped up the storylines from A Breath of Snow and Ashes and then went into the An Echo in the Bone storylines for Claire, Jamie, Young Ian, and William. However, Roger and Bree got some of their Written in My Own Heart’s Blood storylines.
So, which books will the TV series follow with the rest of the season. While we can’t say for certain as we’re not in the writers’ room, we can make a judgment based on the storylines expected for this season.
Outlander Season 7B will cover two books
There are still some An Echo in the Bone storylines to cover when it comes to Claire and Jamie. The two and Young Ian have arrived in Scotland. This is a huge part of the story in the seventh book, and it all leads to a major moment that book fans are excited to see play out involving Claire and Lord John Grey.
Likewise, William’s storyline still has a lot to cover from the seventh book. We’re sure to see more of that play out in Outlander Season 7B.
There are some hints that we’ll get some of the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood storylines in Outlander Season 7B, though. After all, one of the episode titles is the book title!
As for Bree and Roger, their storyline is now in the eighth book. That’s when we see Roger and Buck head to the past, and realize that they’re not in the time period they expected. It’s a great story that involves Dougal, Geillis, and Brian, which is why those characters are coming back.
There was a point when the production team believed that Outlander Season 7 would be the last, so it makes sense that the series attempted to cover both books in the whole season. However, there may be some storylines left open to use in Outlander Season 8.
