We’ve finished The Scottish Prisoner. It’s time to move on in Lord John Grey’s story, and the next story is Lord John and the Plague of Zombies.

This is a short story, but one of the longer ones compared to a few others. This is a great month to start the story, although we won’t finish it in October. The title does suggest it’s all about zombies! Of course, we know Lord John Grey doesn’t believe in the supernatural.

When will we start Lord John and the Plague of Zombies?

I know for a lot of you, you just want to know when we’ll jump into this story. It’s a chance to read together and potentially discuss the chapters with friends. So, you want to know how long this break is going to look like.

It’s not going to be a long break. With this being a short story and to do with zombies, I want to get started as soon as possible in October. So, we’ll start the read-through on Monday, Oct. 14.

Don’t worry if you’re not caught up on The Scottish Prisoner or ready to read this one. All these posts will remain on the site so you can catch up when you need to.

What is Lord John and the Plague of Zombies about?

This short stories takes us to 1761 Jamaica. It’s time to see John in Jamaica, although he’s not the governor just yet. He is going there to help put an end to the slave rebellions.

While he’s there, he learns about the murder of Mr. Abernathy, the local planter and owner of Rose Hall. Oh yes, you know the name! There’s a certain time traveler who made it to Jamaica is connected to him. With the maroons as the suspected culprits, Lord John Grey needs to get to the bottom of the murder.

He has another mystery to solve. There’s a missing superintendent and some snakes are invading the governor’s home. Oh, and there may be zombies killing people. That’s a lot, but is it all connected?

Get ready for Lord John and the Plague of Zombies on Monday, Oct. 14.
