What if you could travel through time to visit various points of the past? That’s something history buff Kevin finds out is possible in Time Bandits.

The new Apple TV+ series is based on the movie of the same name. It’s described as being a comedic journey through time and space. That’s certainly what the trailer makes it look like, and there is a bit of drama thrown in here.

What is Time Bandits about?

The series follows 11-year-old Kevin, who loves all things history. His parents think he should get his nose out of the books, but he wants to immerse himself in the world of the Vikings and the Greeks. Well, he gets that opportunity when he finds out his bedroom is a portal to other time periods.

Kevin ends up meeting a rag-tag group of thieves. They steal items from different time periods, and Kevin now has a chance to see history in the making.

Of course, there has to be a little bit of drama thrown into the mix. That drama is a great evil that is after the map of time and space. If that map falls into the wrong hands, evil could be unleashed into the world forever, and the rag-tag group will need to figure out a way to prevent that while enjoying their escapades.

Time Bandits cast

Kal-El Tuck stars as Kevin, the 11-year-old nerd who is ready for a new adventure. Lisa Kudrow takes on the role of Penelope, who dresses like a pirate and claims to be the leader of the group. Jemaine Clement is Pure Evil, who wants the map to unleash that evil onto the world.
