The first episode of Three Women is now out: What's it about?

Three Women has premiered on Starz. New episodes drop every Friday, and if you want a raw story about female desires and wants, then this is the series for you.

Shailene Woodley stars as Gia, an author who finds herself not really knowing what to do with herself. Her publisher throws out her latest work in progress and tells her to start again. So, what does she do?

She heads out on the road. It’s time to gain some inspiration, and in the end, she comes across three women who are ready to tell their stories and change the narrative on female desire.

What is Three Women about?

This is more than a romance, although there are certainly some steamy moments throughout the series. It’s a story of desire and passion.

Gia talks to Lina, who just wants someone who makes her feel hot. Her husband doesn’t want to touch her anymore, so she turns to other men who give her what she needs. Is it right? Not at all, but Gia isn’t here to judge the story. She’s here to tell the story.

Then there’s Sloane, who is a swinger with her husband. They routinely invite other people into their beds, but Sloane wants more. While a lot of men will go out and sow their seed, Sloane has that desire as well. What sort of trouble could it get her into?

Finally, there’s Maggie, who has an affair with her married teacher. She is just a student, and this teacher most definitely takes advantage of her. Her story is focused on a trial as the affair comes out.

Is Three Women based on a book?

Yes, there is a book out there to read. It’s of the same name by Lisa Taddeo.

In fact, the story is based on truth. Taddeo is the author Gia in the series, and she really did spend eight years travelling the country to hear the stories from the three different women. They were willing to tell their tale knowing what it could become.
