Regretting You is the latest Colleen Hoover novel to land an adaptation

There’s another Colleen Hoover book set to be adapted. Paramount Pictures has landed the rights to bring us an adaptation of Regretting You.

This is set in a different world to It Ends with Us. As of right now, there is no word on whether It Stars With Us will be adapted, which is the sequel to the original book. With the controversy around the Blake Lively movie, it is possible that the sequel could be skipped. We’ll have to wait and see.

As for now, the focus is on Regretting You. The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone has been tapped to direct the latest adaptation, with Allison Williams, Dave Franco, and Mckenna Grace set to star, according to Deadline.

What is Regretting You about?

If you haven’t read the novel yet, I encourage you to do so. It follows the lives of a family as they pick up the pieces after a shocking car accident. Two family members died in that accident, and now the others are struggling to move forward in their lives.

It doesn’t help that it turns out that there were secrets and lies in the lives of those two family members. It’s going to take a second collision in life to help bring the past to a close.

This is one of those books that does more than tell a story. It encourages people to look at life and love, as well as assessing life after a tragedy.

When will Regretting You come to theaters?

A release window hasn’t been announced just yet. With the movie only just being announced, that’s not surprising.

We do know that production will start in spring 2025. That could suggest a late 2025 release date or we may need to wait until early 2026.
