NBC finally brought us the good news about Quantum Leap’s return. It also brought us bittersweet news, as we now know when the Season 2 finale will air.
This was a show left off the return schedule. The Irrational and Found got return dates, but NBC stayed quiet about the time travel drama. This was a series caught in the strike action this summer, so it wasn’t too surprising to see it missing. You see, episodes needed to be filmed.
Well, NBC has managed to find a place for it in the January schedule. It’s great news as it means we don’t have to wait until the midseason or even the summer, which could have spelled trouble for the show. Of course, with the return date, we also have a finale date.
When will the Quantum Leap Season 2 finale air on NBC?
There are just five episodes left of the season. Like a lot of shows, this one is only getting 13 episodes. That probably wasn’t the initial plan, but the strike action reduced the episode counts of a lot of shows. With the cost of production going up, though, reducing the episode count is a great way to save money and keep a good show on the air.
The Quantum Leap Season 2 finale will air on Tuesday, Feb. 20. It will be a two-hour finale, so you’ll need to make sure you tune in at 9 p.m. ET/PT instead of the later hour.
We have no details about the two-hour finale just yet. That’s not surprising with episodes still to air. NBC hasn’t even told us what to expect in the returning episode just yet. There is a lot to cover, especially with a potential way to get Ben back. The question is whether Ben will want to return or whether he’ll want to find a way to stick around in a body in the 1960s to be with Hannah.
Quantum Leap returns on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 10/9c on NBC. Catch up on the series on Peacock.
