PBS offers great news for All Creatures Great and Small
Who would have thought that people would tune in to a series about a Yorkshire vet? That’s exactly what’s happened with All Creatures Great and Small.
The reboot of the 1970s and 1980s series certainly quickly captured the hearts of fans. Now there is some great news as PBS has renewed the show. And not just for one season.
TVLine reports that we’ll get two more seasons of the series. Yes, Seasons 5 and 6 have been confirmed.
How many episodes will be in All Creatures Great and Small Seasons 5 and 6?
The two seasons will have six episodes each. There will also be Christmas specials of the two shows. This is a relatively standard length for a lot of UK shows. It’s not about the quantity but about the quality.
We also know of some returning faces in the seasons. Callum Woodhouse will be back for the fifth season. He plays Tristan Farnon, who wasn’t around for the fourth season. Tristan joined the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, and he will make a return due to some “unexpected” circumstances.
Of course, we will also see the following return:
Nicholas Ralph as James Herriot
Samuel West as Siegfried Farnon
Anna Madeley as Mrs. Hall
Rachel Shenton as Helen Herriot
James Anthong-Rose as Richard Carmody
Patricia Hodge as Mrs. Pumphrey
Like with the previous seasons, this show won’t include villains that we’re used to. That’s unusual, even when it comes to period dramas. After all, there are always villains in life, aren’t there? Well, this series is focused on regular people living regular lives. While there are individuals who will come up against their needs and wishes, that doesn’t necessarily make them villains of a story.
All Creatures Great and Small is available to stream on PBS Masterpiece, which is available via Amazon Channels.
