Outlander announced three new cast members joining Season 8. Carla Woodwock is the youngest of the three, coming in as Amaranthus Grey in the series.

Book fans know what to expect at first. There are a lot of questions still about this character, and it would mean the show needed to find someone likable but conniving at the same time. After all, it’s clear that Amaranthus is up to something, but she is managing to win the heart of William.

So, who is Woodcock? What have you seen her in before? Let’s take a look.

Emmerdale Farm, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and more

Woodcock’s first role, according to her IMDb, was in 2017. She played Lilly in two episodes of Emmerdale Farm.

After that, she landed the role of Susie in Free Rein. That included the TV movie Free Rein: The Twelve Nights of Christmas. After 32 episodes of the series, she moved onto Pandora for two episodes and then seven episodes of Ackley Bridge.

In 2022, Woodcock played the role of Helen in the miniseries Flowers in the Attic: The Origin. This series told the story of the dark family secrets that shaped the Foxworth family, making Olivia and Malcolm into the people fans know in Flowers in the Attic.

Tell Me Everything is one of her bigger roles. She played Zia, one of the main friends who would go through mental health struggles and deal with growing up along with the rest of her friendship group.

Most recently, you can see her in Such Brave Girls, where she played Bianca. The series is a sitcom that follows sisters Josie and Billie. They and their single mom navigate the judgement of people around them and trying to deal with people who don’t care about them at all.

Of course, one of her upcoming roles is one of the most exciting, and it’s not all about Outlander. Woodcock will play Becca Bell in the TV series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, which is currently in post-production. This is based on the novel of the same name by Holly Jackson.
