We reach the end of Outlander Book 9

How did I forget that Bobby and Silvia’s wedding happens in the final chapter of Outlander Book 9? It was only when reading it that I remembered! This is the problem with only reading this book once before.

We need to see some sort of happy ending to an Outlander book. Usually, there’s a lot of focus on peace for Claire and Jamie. That’s not really the case with this book. While it starts off like it will, there is a shadow over the whole chapter at the end of it.

We do get to see a wedding, and I love how Roger thinks of a Quaker wedding as a handfasting. I also love how the union of Bobby and Silvia isn’t just about them but about the children as well. That’s so important with blended families.

This chapter ends with a huge moment, though. It’s that moment that is set to push us into the 10th book. William turns up looking for Jamie’s help, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

I still don’t think we’ll see Bobby and Silvia. There is another way to have William show up and disrupt peace. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter.
