Just the Outlander chapter

This is a short chapter, and it brings a sense of hope that there is peace to come for the Frasers. Many of the people of the Ridge are trying to get back to their normal lives.

Claire is mashing up devil’s dung with Jamie’s hammer when he comes to see her. He definitely doesn’t want the hammer back without it being washed first. Instead, he needs Claire to be a witness to something.

It turns out that Silvia and Bobby are arguing a little. Silvia wants to make Bobby aware that she was a prostitute. Bobby wants Silvia to be aware that he is a convicted murderer. Fine, but the two realize that they both did what they thought was right at the time. It was a matter of survival, and they don’t judge each other.

They also both promise not to return to that. This leads to Bobby proposing.

Before Silvia can give an answer, Aidan pleads with Silvia to say yes because Bobby can’t cook. Silvia’s daughters make it clear that Silvia isn’t the best at that, either. They can make stew though so nobody will starve. Silvia jokes that Bobby can hunt the meat and she will butcher and cook it. They’ll just have to chop off the burnt ends.

Before anything more can be said, Chastity says “Daddy?” It looks like there’s going to be a wedding in Book 10!
