Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with the news that everyone is back at the Ridge. It wasn’t a comfortable journey, but they are there.

The chapter doesn’t go into detail about Jamie’s wounds. The only thing we hear about is how Jamie has a fractured knee cap. Claire needs to use the screws in Jenny’s watch to be able to heal that one. This gives us time to find out what Jamie is afraid of: dying in his sleep and being bound. He is not the best of patients for Claire, but she’s used to that.

After this, Claire is able to talk to Jenny, who is pensive in the kitchen. Jenny explains that the Sachem is leaving, and she would go with him if it wasn’t for worrying about her family. She and the Sachem have shared some intimate moments, and Jenny has enjoyed being with him. Ian is still with her, but she is going to keep living her life. I love that we get a chance to see this.

She thinks about how she can possibly leave after the War. However, she is going to miss having the Sachem around. It’s clear that they have an emotional bond as well as a physical one.
