Claire continues to fight for Jamie in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 148

The battle is over in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 148. That doesn’t stop Claire from fighting for Jamie.

Claire, Young Ian, and Roger remain with Jamie on the battlefield. It has been 24 hours since the fighting stopped, and now people around them are burying the dead. Claire is relieved that Jamie is still alive. Roger confirms this.

However, Jamie notes that he’s not dead “yet.” Is that a sign that his death is coming from this battle? Or could it just mean that he still isn’t promising to hold on? I do get a sense that he did die since Young Ian confirmed it, but that he has been brought back and now he is trying to fight but doesn’t think it will work.

The Frasers are ready to go home, though. The question is whether Jamie can be moved.

I don’t get much in the way of foreshadowing in this post. This is more about plot development and wrapping up the story at the Battle of Kings Mountain. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

I do expect to see some of this chapter, at least, get used in the TV series. I’ll dive into what I think will be used and why in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter.
