We see the Battle of Kings Mountain take place in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 146

How right is Frank when it comes to the Battle of Kings Mountain in Outlander? We learn this by the end of the chapter. And it’s clear that Frank isn’t lying about the events that took place. I don’t think we ever really believed that he would lie, though, did we?

We get to see the battle from the POVs of Claire and Jamie. Claire is struggling with memories of Monmouth. That’s not surprising considering she almost died there. However, she can’t let her memories take control.

Meanwhile, we get to see Jamie experience the battle. He tries to lead his men, while he takes in the battle and figures out that Frank was very right in everything about it.

This chapter doesn’t foreshadow all that much, though. Instead, it is very focused on the battle taking place. We are very much in the moment. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

I do expect to see this chapter used in the TV series. After all, the Battle of Kings Mountain is a huge moment for Claire and Jamie. There is no way that the series can skip over it, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter.
