The Battle of Kings Mountain begins in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 145

With the Battle of Kings Mountain here, it’s time to see if Frank’s book is right. Jamie heads into battle in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 145.

Jamie is with Young Ian, Roger, and Claire. Everything is playing out as Frank’s book says that it will. He wants Roger to stay with Claire, but that’s not something that happens. Plus, Claire has no interest in staying back when it comes to this battle. She wants to be where Jamie is so that she is ready.

We also get some of this chapter from Roger’s perspective. He is ready to help the men spiritually on the battlefield, but his concern is Jamie. He also knows the history thanks to Frank’s book, and he is worried.

This chapter certainly seems to foreshadow that Frank’s book is right. However, Claire being there is important, and I think that adds to the foreshadowing. I’ll get to that in the relevant section of the post.

I’m sure we’ll see this chapter used in the TV series. The Battle of Kings Mountain has to be used, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into the chapter of Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.
