Jamie writes his will in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 142

With the Battle of Kings Mountain coming up, Jamie needs to write his last will and testament in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 142. I think we get to see just how much family Jamie actually has.

Sometimes, it’s easy to forget some of the people Jamie considers family. We know Claire, Bree and William, his grandchildren, and even Fergus and Marsali. This chapter then makes Jamie think about people he has forgotten about, and some of them live on the Ridge with him!

I love seeing this. We see that Jamie isn’t perfect. It’s a chance to see him realize that there are more people relying on him than he initially thinks. On top of that, it’s all about chosen family as well as blood family, and I adore more shows are focusing on that.

This chapter certainly seems to foreshadow Jamie’s death. I’m going to get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section, though.

As for adaptation, I do suspect that we’ll see this chapter used in Outlander Season 8. It probably won’t be in the exact way that it is done here, but there will be a mention of the will.

Let’s dive into the chapter of Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.
