Brianna gives birth in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 140

We have another short chapter, and this one is clearly getting ready for events in the next book and wrap up storylines in this one. Brianna gives birth in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 140.

The chapter is focused on the birth of Brianna and Roger’s third child. They are together in this, and they are also surrounded by plenty of family and friends. Bree safely delivers her third child, and it leads to a discussion of names.

I love Jamie vetoing the use of his own name. It isn’t that he wants his name to be skipped over, but they can’t have a Jamie and a Jemmy in the same family. I guess that could change if there are more children in the MacKenzie family. Why do I feel like the two of them aren’t done yet?

This chapter doesn’t foreshadow anything, though. I get a sense that it’s more about wrapping a few things up as we get toward the end of the book. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

I think this will be used in the show in some way. We may not see it all, but I think we’ll get the reason for the names in there. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter 140.
