Just the Outlander chapter

Claire wakes up from the feeling of the bed moving. When she can feel that Jamie is there, she knows that she doesn’t need to immediately panic. Jamie must have had a nightmare, but it’s not a serious one. Jamie doesn’t want to be touched right away, but he also isn’t forceful in how he removes her hand.

As Claire waits, she makes sure his heartrate is okay. Jamie then goes into the dream he had. He was at Culloden, and Murtagh was there. What was surprising is that Murtagh was smiling and bright. That is not the man Claire remembers.

Jamie then shares that a few others were there. His father and grandfather were also there. Some of them weren’t at the battle, and they are all dead now. Claire tries to work out what that means. Even Jamie can’t really explain it. He does explain that he felt at peace in the dream. Usually at a battle, he would feel scared, but he didn’t with these men surrounding him.

When Claire asks about him taking his clothes off, Jamie remembers that Black Jack Randall was also in the dream, and he was naked. Jamie doesn’t know why. Jamie was also naked, but he doesn’t know why.
