Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

There is a lot shared in this chapter. We get to know Richardson’s motivations and history. We get to see what Hal is really up to based on John’s thoughts. It’s not surprising then that we’ve found out Hal is likely heading north to Ben, probably to tell him the plan.

This chapter certainly foreshadows a huge plot. Richardson isn’t done. However, he needs to make sure he keeps John a captive long enough for Hal to respond to the letter that was sent. Clearly, Richardson has no idea where Hal is going. This gives William and Jamie time.

Adapting the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter

I certainly expect to see this chapter used, and we could see all of it. I would love to see Richardson lose his cool with John and throw brandy and then water at him. I also want to see Richardson’s backstory explained. He clearly knows Claire, and it sounds like he’s met Claire in another time. Bree thought Richardson was someone from Lallybroch, but is it possible he’s someone from America?

I don’t think there is an option not to include this chapter. It would work well with the previous one as an episode that involves William turning to Jamie for help saving John.
