Lord John Grey is abducted in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 136

We catch up with everything that happened to Lord John Grey in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 136. This takes place two days before the previous chapter.

We know that John has been taken. It’s time to find out who took him, and how they managed to get John to walk into a trap. Of course, Richardson has something to do with it.

This chapter is interesting. Richardson is back in his British uniform, which is something that Lord John Grey makes a comment about. It turns out that Richardson wants to prevent Hal from doing something, and he is going to use John to get what he wants. Will the Greys agree to this form of blackmail, though?

The chapter certainly sets up the plot of things to come. I don’t see too much in the way of traditional foreshadowing. This chapter does have the downside of bringing someone up from the Lord John Grey novellas, so if you haven’t read them, you may have felt slightly put out.

Will the chapter be used in the TV series? I think some of it will, but not all of it. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter 136.
