Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter continues to foreshadow Claire coming into her power. She is able to ease some of Jackson’s pain, and he points out that the John the Conqueror root has done its job. Now it’s all down to Claire’s magic. He is so certain that she has it in her, and it’s clear that this is going to come out soon.

The rest of the chapter is more about plot development. There is a focus on wrapping up Agnes’s storyline, and there is the focus on Ulysses.

Adapting the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter

This isn’t a chapter I see being used in the TV series. I don’t see the previous chapter being used, which will take out the need for this one. There are potential other moments before this that could see Claire show signs of her power. We don’t need this one.

As I mentioned in the intro, this chapter felt like something thrown in to give Claire and Jamie something to do. We probably won’t need that in the series considering there isn’t as much time to fill. Previous moments with Claire and Jamie can be nicely spaced out with moments with other characters. Plus, there is the need to wrap things up, which means storylines from the 10th book that we’re still to see.
