Claire and Jamie figure out what to do next in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 132

I’ll admit that sometimes I feel like chapters are thrown in to give some characters things to do. This seems like Outlander Book 9, Chapter 132 is one of those cases.

We’ve spent so many chapters recently focused on William, Bree, and the Murrays. Claire and Jamie haven’t been that focal toward the end of Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone. The parts with Cunningham made sense, but this, on its own at the end of the book, seems thrown in to just give the two some page time. You can come at me all you want for saying that, but just because I enjoy the books doesn’t mean I have to like every part of it.

I do enjoy seeing Claire come into her powers, though. There could have been a way to show this without the Ulysses storyline, but that’s a discussion for another day. This chapter does bring us a hint of Claire coming into her powers in full. It’s that little bit of foreshadowing and I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

Will the chapter be used in the TV series, though? I doubt it. There are a few reasons for that, and I’ll get to my thoughts on them in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter.
