William heads out to find Amaranthus in Outlander Book 9, Chapter 129

Two chapters ago, we found out that Amaranthus was heading to Philadelphia to be with her father. In Outlander Book 9, Chapter 129, William heads out to find her.

William decides that he needs to bring Amaranthus back. I think there are some ulterior motives here for his own part, but she does need to be back with her baby. However, it seems like they don’t really take her word as to where she’s gone. Lord John Grey points out that she could be heading to see Ben or her father.

I think this is a hint that maybe Lord John Grey doesn’t fully trust the woman. She has clearly hidden some things, and she wasn’t a very good actress when it came to the part of a grieving widow.

I also think there’s some foreshadowing into why Amaranthus is leaving. I do suspect a few things about Amaranthus and Captain Richardson, but I don’t think we’ll learn everything until Outlander Book 10. This chapter just seems to foreshadow some things, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

As for the use in the adaptation, I think some of it may be used. I’ll get to my thoughts on that as I look at what can be used in Outlander Season 8.

Let’s dive into Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Chapter 129.
