Just the Outlander chapter

Claire and Jamie are taking Cloudtree’s warnings seriously. They know that something is going to happen. They can both feel it, and Claire worries that this is the night she’ll lose Jamie. There is a sexual charge in the air, but they can’t take advantage of it. Jamie has his night at the Lodge.

All Claire can do is go through the Merck manual. She needs to do something that will keep her busy.

Claire thinks of how Jamie is dressing as if he’s ready for a battle. He is ready for it. On the way to the Meeting House, Jamie thinks of how he’d prefer to have Young Ian or Roger with him. He does have the men from Ardsmuir with him, and he thinks about the good and bad when at Ardsmuir.

It’s like everyone knows something is coming. The Loyalists at the Meeting House give Jamie a strange look. He decides to send two men loyal to him out to the woods. He’s sure that Cunningham is in the dark to see how many loyal men Jamie has, and Jamie is worried that the Cherokee will be out there.
