Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with William still on the road to finding Dottie. As he rides through Virginia, he thinks about Mount Josiah. That would be a great place to take her so that she doesn’t have to travel through the harsh winter, but Hal wants his daughter back with him as soon as possible. William also reminds himself that getting straight back to Savannah means returning to Amaranthus.

When William gets to the people who were helping Dottie, he learns that her brother arrived a month ago. William tries to figure out which brother and based on the description of looking a lot like Dottie, he decides that it’s Adam. So, he has to figure out where Adam would have taken her.

Mrs. Elsmworth shares that Dottie’s brother was taking her to her husband. That means Denzell, so it likely means Washington’s winter quarters in New Jersey. Of course, Adam could take her to New York, but William doesn’t want to see his former unit, so he heads to New Jersey.

When William gets to Morristown, he asks to see the doctor. That’s not Denny. That’s when he learns that Denny is likely at Wick House, so off William goes there. The sentry there confirms that Denny and Dottie are there, but they are not to be disturbed. They are with General Ralph Bleeker.

William decides to sneak in and he can hear Dottie’s laughter. When he enters the parlor, he finds Dottie there with Denny and General Bleecker, a man in a Continental uniform. Only, this man is much more familiar to William than he expected. This is Benjamin Grey.
