Gerald Forbes

With Bonnet, comes Forbes. He was initially introduced as a potential suitor for Brianna. He wasn’t the only one, either. Jocasta Cameron brought a few men to dinner as a way to get someone to take Bree when she was pregnant with Roger’s or Bonnet’s child (she didn’t know at the time).

Forbes was the only one to throw a hissy fit at being rejected. Well, okay, the other men technically weren’t rejected, but I don’t think they would have done as much as Forbes did in the end.

Forbes hoped to con his way into getting River Run, or at least some money, via Bonnet. He didn’t care that he was helping a rapist or helping that rapist traffic a woman. Everything fell apart from him as many others saw what was going on, and it led to Forbes attempting to kill Jocasta for it.

Lionel Brown

In Outlander Season 5, we met the Browns. While I’d like to say that Richard was toxic, he really was just a man of his time. Lionel was different.

As he realized that Claire was behind the pamphlets about avoiding pregnancy, he decided to gather a group of men to abduct her. On top of that, he didn’t care that a pregnant woman was knocked out in the attack, and he encouraged all the men to rape Claire while holding her hostage.

He knew what would happen once Jamie found out. Surely he did. Yet, his pride got in the way of everything. And that doesn’t even touch on the fact that he abused his wife. Even for the time, abuse of a woman was still wrong as we’d seen in Scotland, making him one of the toxic ones.
