With The Buccaneers at the end of its first season, fans are desperate to know if there’s going to be more to the story. There is some excellent news for period drama fans.

Wow, what a cliffhanger ending! No spoilers here for those who haven’t caught up on the series just yet. After all, you’re here for the renewal news. The good news is that cliffhanger isn’t going to just be left forever.

Apple TV+ has shared some great news. According to Deadline, The Buccaneers Season 2 is officially happening. It is excellent news for fans, especially as many were getting worried due to the way Apple has been canceling shows recently.

When could The Buccaneers Season 2 come to Apple TV+?

The renewal is all that publications are reporting. We don’t yet know when the new season of The Buccaneers could arrive. However, writing work can start right away, and production work can follow straight after it too. The strike actions have come to an end.

With this in mind, the earliest we’re likely to expect to see the season is early 2025. It takes a long time for period dramas to film and get through post-production. A lot of work goes in to getting rid of any modern elements of streets and buildings, such as gutters and street lamps! It can take just as long as production to get through post-production.

Will the entire cast return? It looks like that is going to be the case. It’s not like there were any major deaths at the end of the season. Instead, the cliffhanger was all about how relationships have ended and started. There was a big love triangle of sorts throughout the first season, and the second season will need to address a few decisions made.
