After the blow at Rook’s Rest, Rhaenyra needs more dragonriders. She start the journey to gain them in House of the Dragon Season 2, Episode 6.

Before doing that, Rhaenyra needs to release the dragons from the pit below Dragonstone. We get a glimpse of one of the dragons coming up from the large pit, and there is a clear look of astonishment and fear on Rhaenyra’s face.

Who is this dragon? It’s Vermithor, the one Daemon sang to at the end of House of the Dragon Season 1. Vermithor is the second-largest dragon alive in House of the Dragon right now and offers a real threat to the Greens if the Blacks can secure a rider.

Rhaenyra knows that she’s lost Daemon in House of the Dragon

Jacaerys makes it clear that if Rhaenyra wants to win, she needs Daemon by her side. The problem is Daemon is off doing his own thing in Harenhal. We can see that he’s losing support, but Rhaenyra has no idea what’s going on.

All Rhaenyra knows is that there is a risk that Daemon is raising an army for himself. This puts her further at risk. During the previous episode, she sent someone out to check up on what Daemon is doing, and now she seems willing to accept that she has lost Daemon.

There is another person who has Daemon on his mind. It’s all about Ser Criston Cole, who knows that he won’t have the numbers against Daemon, if he raises the army in the Riverlands. Aemond isn’t worried about Daemon. He wants to face his uncle in a fight in the air. This is certainly foreshadowing things to come.

Aemond isn’t that experienced in war, though. He has passion and drive, but he doesn’t have the skill. Alicent worries about that, although it’s clear she supports him some of the way to get revenge for everything he lost as a kid.

There is trouble coming in King’s Landing, though. Mysaria warned Rhaenyra that the smallfolk would end up revolting. She knows the people forgotten by the royals. As food becomes scarcer, there is a threat of the people rising up and taking down the Greens before the Blacks have a chance.
