Jump into Shadow and Bone

This is more of a YA fantasy series. There are some high fantasy elements to it, but it is still grounded in reality. It’s also based on a book series, so that will appeal to Outlander fans.

The story follows Alina, a woman who finds out that she has magical abilities. And not just any magical abilities. She is The Sun Summoner, the opposite to The Darkling that created The Fold and the creatures that came with it.

She is the hope to destroy The Fold. However, The Darkling wants to use her to expand his own power. Can she break free of him, or is she destined to be his puppet?

Check out Shadow and Bone on Netflix.

Turn to Once Upon a Time for fairytales

How about fairytales and magic? Once Upon a Time is the series to turn to. The first six seasons tell one story and then there was an attempt to reboot the story in Season 7, but it didn’t really work.

We start off with a woman who has a young boy come to her down telling her that she’s his mom. Wait, wouldn’t a woman know if she had a kid? Well, it turns out that she did and she put him up for adoption. The boy is right, and now Emma may be the key to fix the town of Storybrooke.

This is a town that most people don’t see. Why? Well, because the Evil Queen from Snow White used magic to create it. Everyone inside is a fairytale character, including Snow White, Prince Charming, and yes, the Seven Dwarves. Nobody knows except for the Evil Queen, who is the mayor of the town.

Can Emma help everyone get their memories back? Why is she so special that she can see the town?

Once Upon a Time is available on Hulu.
