5 fantasy shows not returning in 2024

Stranger Things Season 5

Another huge show that has everyone talking about is Stranger Things. This isn’t for many controversial cast changes, though. Instead, it’s because the cast is getting a little too old to be kids now, and this is the final season.

It’s been a long wait for Season 5. We had hoped that it would arrive in 2024. In fact, thee was a push to get the episodes filmed sooner rather than later because of the age issue. However, it wasn’t meant to be. The strike action shut down the writers room and halted production.

So, it’s 2025. It’s not clear how many episodes we’ll actually end up getting at this point or whether it will be another spilt season—it probably will be.

Gen V Season 2

If you’re not into the superhero genre, you may not have given The Boys a chance. However, this series does things differently. The superheroes aren’t really the heroes after all. The series was so popular that we got a college-based spin-off Gen V.

The show was quickly renewed for a second season. It also left us with a lot of questions to push into that second season. There is a lot of crossover with The Boys, so you’ll want to watch both of them to understand it all.

With a show like this, it takes a lot of time to get through all stages of production. The first season didn’t air until the end of 2023, so we’re not expecting Season 2 to arrive until spring 2025 at the very earliest. It could be later!
