The end of Outlander Season 7A saw Young Ian head to Scotland. Before he left, he told Rachel Hunter how he felt about her, and he left her with Rollo.

Now fans want to know what to expect in Outlander Season 7B. We can look at the source material to get an idea, and we know that Rachel’s storyline at this point comes from the end of An Echo in the Bone and from Written in My Own Heart’s Blood.

So yes, if you are reading this, there will be some spoilers to come. We don’t know exactly which storylines will be used, but we know there will be some.

Rachel Hunter’s life is at risk in Outlander Season 7B

One thing we know is that Rachel’s life is likely at risk. At the end of Outlander Season 7A, Arch came across Rachel and Rollo. Arch made a note that Rollo’s owner must trust Rachel to leave Rollo with her. That tells him something important: Young Ian is falling for Rachel.

We know that Arch wants revenge for the murder of his wife. He doesn’t want to kill Young Ian. He wants to take the person Young Ian loves from him, which means Rachel’s life is on the line. We know that Arch is sure to come after Rachel, but probably once Young Ian is back in the country.

Well, that is going to happen. Young Ian will make it back to America, and this allows that part of the storyline to play out. Arch goes for revenge, but by this point, Young Ian has promised to be a changed man to Rachel. She wants a man who doesn’t get involved in violence, so he doesn’t attack Arch in the way that you would think.

Don’t worry; Rachel is saved! William is the one to save the day.

Rachel and Young Ian get married in the Outlander books

After all this, Young Ian and Rachel are able to spend more time with each other. Rachel is there for Young Ian when it comes to the potential deaths of Jamie and Jenny, and she is there when the truth about Jamie and Jenny being alive.

The two get to know each other more and fall deeper in love. They end up getting married, and they’re able to enjoy a life together. Yes, there are moments with the Revolutionary War, but they are there for each other.

Rachel is also there for Young Ian when Rollo dies in his sleep from old age. I’m not sure if this will show up in Outlander Season 7B or even Outlander Season 8. The death of a dog in fiction is heartbreaking, but it is needed when it comes to real life—Rollo passes away when he gets old and he ends up realizing that Young Ian has someone else now in the form of Rachel.

By the end of the eighth Outlander book, Rachel gives birth to her son with Young Ian. They don’t give him until the ninth book. I could see this happening in the eighth and final season instead, but we’ll see how much can fit into the eight episodes coming.
