There are most definitely cases where love is not a fairytale. That’s the case in Damsel, starring Millie Bob Brown.

If you’re looking for something to get you through a bit more of Droughtlander, this Netflix movie is sure to be something that helps. It starts with a bit of romance but turns into a fantastical story that involves dragons and a damsel who is not going to remain in distress. There is clearly some sort of sacrificial storyline.

What is Damsel about?

The trailer shares a lot of what to expect in the movie. We follow a young woman who agrees to marry into a royal family. Just because they’re royal doesn’t mean they’re good people. That becomes very clear when our dutiful damsel is thrown into a cavern.

While there, she comes across names of other women who have faced the same fate. There’s also a fire-breathing dragon who our damsel needs to get away from. She will not become a sacrifice like the other women before her. She will do whatever it takes to get free.
