Bridgerton helped with the creation of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
Who would have thought period dramas and zombie shows would go together? Well, the truth is they don’t, but Bridgerton certainly helped to inspire a few things in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
The new The Walking Dead spin-off series follows Andrew Lincoln’s Rick and Danai Gurira’s Michonne as they find their way back to each other. We don’t want to ruin a lot, but the first episode was epic, and now the cast gets to talk all about it.
It turns out that Bridgerton was useful. Men really are a bit useless when it comes to romance.
How Bridgerton helped with The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live?
Gurira shared on The Kelly Clarkson show that Andrew Lincoln and creator Scott Gimple needed a little support when it came to love and romance. They needed to see how you could be in conflict but there was still an epic love story happening. If there’s one show that does manage this, it’s Bridgerton.
So, Gurira opted to send some clips to the two men to show them how love is done. Not the steamy moments on the series, but the emotional ones; the ones where the characters really connect and we see that it’s more than just a fluffy romance and the love has come substance.
This would be important for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Michonne and Rick have been separated for years. In fact, Rick was believed to be dead by so many, including Michonne. Rick just knew that he had to get back to his love.
Kelly Clarkson still can’t get over the fact that it was a period drama that helps with the romance in a zombie show. And now does anyone else want a Bridgerton-The Walking Dead crossover?
Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix.
