There aren't too many positive female friendships in Outlander, but there are some to root for. Here are the five best.

Claire Fraser and Adawhei

Claire and Adawhei didn’t even speak the same language, and yet they were able to communicate so well for such a short space of time. I would have loved to see more of their friendship before Adawhei’s devastating end.

Adawhei was a shaman of the Cherokee people. After the Frasers and the Cherokee people found a peace for their boundary, Adawhei and Claire were able to spend time together. Adawhei spent a lot of time teaching Claire about her medical knowledge and vice versa. It was a beautiful way to bring two cultures together and show respect between them.

While Claire looks down on some superstitions, she also has her moments of respect for different beliefs. This was one of those times.

Brianna MacKenzie and Lizzie Beardsley

Bree and Lizzie started off as mistress and indentured servant. However, Bree never wanted to own a person. She doesn’t agree with that, and so, she never once really treated Lizzie like the indentured servant she technically was.

This allowed for a friendship to blossom. Throughout the seasons, we’ve watched the two grow in their bond. People also laugh at Lizzie frozen in fear and screaming about the buffalo that turned up, but her reaction helped to get the attention of the right people and arguably kept baby Jemmy safe.

We haven’t seen enough of the two together, but when Lizzie thought Bree was leaving back in Outlander Season 5, it was clear how their relationship has blossomed. They would both miss each other deeply.
