The last we saw of Agatha Harkness was that she was left behind in Westview by Wanda in WandaVision. It’s time for that to change in Agatha All Along.
This fantasy series is set to take us through various time periods. The trailer hints to times around the 1600s, the 1980s, and much more. Agatha will reclaim who she really is, realizing that she has been Agatha all along.
Continuing to pay tribute to shows of the past and present
WandaVision spent time paying homage to shows of the past. The trailer makes it clear that Agatha All Along will continue that. We open with Agatha as a detective, which is a clear nod to Mare of Easttown. Then there is the Witches’ Road, which is paved in red and looks to be a nod to Wizard of Oz. This road is also mentioned in the Marvel comics, so it makes sense to include it here.
Agatha was trapped in Wanda’s hex, even before she was abandoned in Westview. It makes sense that we’ll see some connections to WandaVision throughout, and not just the various costumes Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha wore in that series.
Agatha gets her mojo back in Agatha All Along
As for the storyline, we’ll see Agatha figure out who she is and get her mojo back. She’s ready to create her new coven, and no, she doesn’t need witches in their “right mind” for this.
We also get our first glimpse of Joe Locke’s character. The casting for the series has been under wraps when it comes to the characters people are playing. We can see that Aubrey Plaza will be an inner demon of sorts for Agatha to unlock who she is, but what about Locke? Is it possible that he is playing Billy Kaplan? This would allow the Mephisto theories to come to light.

One thing is clear: this is set to be on the scarier side of fantasy for Marvel. It’s the perfect tone for Kathryn Hahn’s character, and it is sure to bring a different audience to the series.
The first two episodes of Agatha All Along will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 18 on Disney+.
