10 shows similar to Bridgerton to enjoy while we wait for season 3 to arrive

It's been way too long since we've seen a new season of Bridgerton. When was the second season released again? March 2022? Wow, it's been over two years since the second season came out and I don't know how we've been holding on. Truthfully!

Fortunately, we have an official release date for the highly anticipated Bridgerton season 3. This time around, Netflix chose to split the show into parts. This is the first time the streamer has ever done this for the period drama. The third season will be released in two batches: part 1 on May 16 and part 2 on June 13.

While we might be only a month away from the show's release, we still have quite some time before the third season premieres on Netflix. So, what do we do while we wait? Well, we could always keep ourselves busy by watching shows that are similar to the popular period drama. It tells the origin story of Queen Charlotte and her marriage to King George III while also focusing on the origin stories of Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton. Throughout the six-part limited series, the story continuously jumps back and forth between two timelines. One in the present timeline (19th century) where we see an older Queen Charlotte, and the other in the past timeline (18th century) where we watch a young Charlotte rise to power.

Outlander

The Empress

Things immediately start to change for her once she takes over the title. She has new responsibilities while also having to navigate tricky court politics and deal with her husband's scheming family. But although her life changed drastically, she's not one to let people run all over her. With her rebellious nature, she sets out to do things her own way.

The White Princess

Before we knew actress Jodie Comer as psychopathic female assassin Villanelle in Killing Eve, we knew her as Elizabeth of York aka the Queen of England in The White Princess. It's a historical drama miniseries based on the 2013 bestselling novel of the same name by Philippa Gregory. It tells the story of Elizabeth of York and her tumultuous marriage to Henry VII.

If you're looking for a show that's well-written, made up a cast that can actually act, and has amazing costumes, you should definitely check out The White Princess. It only consists of one season that has eight episodes, so it's an easy show to binge-watch.
