We had suspected that a certain book character in William’s story would appear in the new season of Outlander. Well, the Outlander season 7, episode 12 images make it clear that it’s happening now.
A lot has happened in the series so far. Jamie “died,” Claire and Lord John Grey married, and now Jamie is back. William has learned the truth about who his biological father is, and it’s thrown him for a loop. However, nothing could be discussed because Redcoats came barging through the door to take Jamie, and Jamie was forced to escape by holding Lord John Grey hostage.
Well, it’s time to pick up with the storylines where the show left us off. Things are going to get worse before they get better.
William needs to figure out who he is in Outlander season 7, episode 12
It’s time for a story of discovery for William. For his whole life, he’s believed that he is the son of Lord Ellesmere. As the only surviving son, it makes him the new Lord Ellesmere, and titles are everything for people of his stature in this time. It’s understandable that he’s now questioning everything, and that he’s angry that he has been lied to his whole life.
Brianna did warn Lord John Grey of this. When she found out that Frank wasn’t her biological father, she was understandably angry. If you can’t understand what it’s like to feel like your whole life is a lie, then you’re fortunate. Bree’s and now William’s reactions are perfectly normal and understandable.
As William figures out who he is and deals with the anger, he will run into someone at a brothel. Her name is Arabella in the brothel, but she’s actually called Jane. This is an important storyline moving forward, and I’m so glad that we get to see it play out.
Lord John Grey and Jamie discuss a few matters
Of course, we’ll get some time with Jamie and Lord John Grey. There is a lot to work though, especially when it comes to Claire. After all, Jamie needs to learn that John married Claire. This part he’s sure to understand. John did it to save Claire, and if it was just a business deal, Jamie could handle it.
However, John and Claire slept together. And we all know that neither of them were thinking of each other at the time. This is the part that Jamie is going to struggle with, and the images tell us that Jamie is not best pleased with what he’s about to hear.
There are also images of Denny with Lord John Grey, as well as someone else called Colonel Watson Smith. It looks like we’re heading into the Rebel camp, which we know is on the outskirts of Philadelphia based on the promo. The Rebels are about to move in as the British leaves the city. What does this mean for Lord John Grey?
Outlander airs on Fridays on STARZ.
