As the original Outlander series nears its end, Starz is giving fans an early look at what’s ahead for Outlander: Blood of My Blood, unveiling a teaser, first-look images, and a release window for season 2.

Blood of My Blood season 2 is officially set to arrive on our screens sometime in Fall 2026. This is slightly later than when the first season released, but the wait won't be too much longer than expected. The teaser trailer suggests that the interplay between love and looming conflict will be the main driving force of the series.

The official synopsis reads: “As Season Two unfolds, the two young couples will be tested and separated by forces beyond their control, as every clan chooses a side in the rebellion.”

The photos show where we left off in season 1

Picking up from the dramatic close of season 1, the story appears to return directly to key moments left unresolved. One image shows Julia and Henry Beauchamp back at the standing stones, which is where we last saw them in the season 1 finale, looking at something – or someone – behind them.

The other picture shows Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser in a more intimate setting, in what appears to be the same hiding place they were in at the end of season 1.

The teaser trailer is set in two different timelines

The teaser shows the two couples across different eras: Ellen and Brian in 18th-century Scotland, and Julia and Henry in the early 20th century. Did the Beauchamps make it back to their time? Or is the scene in the teaser the product of their imagination?

Brief flashes suggest preparations for war, large social gatherings, and continued movement between timelines – a trademark of the franchise’s mix of historical drama and time-travel storytelling.

The emotional core of the teaser comes through in Ellen’s voice as she says, “You will come back to me.” Who is she talking to? We say Brian, since we see him fighting beside Dougal MacKenzie, in a promising turn of events. Let’s remember that Outlander’s prequel is set around the time of the 1715 Jacobite Rebellion: we’ll see plenty of battles unfold in the next season.

With the Outlander finale set to be released on May 15, fans will have another chapter of the story to look forward to later this year. Fall is just around the corner!
