We’re getting ready for the Outlander prequel to come to life. Of course, one of the things a lot of people look at is whether they could end up getting invested just to lose a series. That means eyeing up whether Outlander: Blood of My Blood is a limited series or not.
The Outlander prequel is a way to keep the universe alive. After all, the original series is going to come to an end with season 8, which here at ClaireandJamie.com, we’re still sure is going to arrive in early 2026. So, a limited series would go against that, but there’s only so much of these two love stories that can be told, right?

There is hope for Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2
This series is not billed as a limited series, which could be viewed as a good or a bad thing. When it comes to those worried about getting invested, it’s certainly a bad thing. We want to know that the entire story will be told, right? Hopefully, should STARZ decide to end the series, it will offer it time to wrap up the storylines as it has with Outlander.
The great news is that the universe could keep growing. It means that there is hope for a second season, and it means that we’re not getting to the end of Ellen and Brian or Julia and Henry’s love story at the end of the first season. For those who worry that the stories will be rushed, a chance of a second season means that that won’t happen.
Well, it shouldn’t happen. When talking to Entertainment Weekly about the loss of Brian McCardie, Matthew B. Roberts and Maril Davis talked about the role that McCardie was going to play if there is a second season. Isaac Grant was meant to stick around for some time, but not that role has been adapted to pass it onto a new character instead of recasting the role. It certainly suggests that we’re not getting to the end of Ellen and Brian’s relationship.

How to help the Outlander prequel continue
You may already know that you want more of this story. Maybe you’re intrigued by the story of Claire’s parents, or you just know that you’ll be invested regardless of which love story you’re following. Well, that means you’ll want the series to succeed.
In the end, it really does come down to us. We need to keep watching the series, and the best way to do that is through the STARZ App. STARZ is able to track these numbers easily and clearly, but just keep in mind that they don’t all get reported publicly.
Another great way is to watch live on the STARZ Channel. These numbers are counted by the Nielsen ratings, so we get more of an idea of how the series is going, but they don’t give the full numbers.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood will premiere on Friday, Aug. 8 on STARZ.
