The Outlander prequel continues to bring younger versions of the characters we’ve already met, and this makes a lot sense. In Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 5, we meet a woman who we’ve seen in Outlander. She was only in one episode, but she made a lasting impression.
Yes, it’s all about Maisri, the Seer Simon Fraser has come to Castle Leathers. In Outlander: Blood of My Blood, Katharine O’Donnelly plays the character, and she certainly brings the same darkness and mystery to the character. Maureen Beatie played her in Outlander season 2.

Who is Maisri in the Outlander universe?
Maisri was introduced in Outlander season 2, episode 8, when Claire and Jamie headed to see the Old Fox, Simon Fraser, as Jamie was in need of fighting men for the Jacobite Rising. While there, they found out that Simon would listen to a Seer, as he was a superstitious man.
However, in Outlander, Simon ends up throwing her out because she refuses to tell him what she’s seen. This is when Claire is able to gain an idea to get Simon to bend to Jamie’s will. After all, many believe her to be a witch, and she can use that to make Simon think she’s a Seer.

Maisri is much more open in Outlander: Blood of My Blood
In Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 5, Simon calls for Maisri after learning that Julia is pregnant with his child. He wants to get a reading to find out what he is going to have and what destiny the fates have in store for this child.
It leads to a talk of prophecies and kings. Lord Lovat knows of a prophecy that states that someone from his line will sit on the throne, and it looks like Maisri is playing to that in some way. After all, if she is a fraudster, she’ll need to make sure Simon trusts her enough to keep employing her.
Davina points out in Outlander: Blood of My Blood that Maisri doesn’t say that Julia’s child is Simon’s child explicitly. Of course, she knows that Julia was pregnant before she got to Castle Leathers. Now, it’s possible that it was just the way Maisri worded things, but it’s also possible that she has realized that Julia is carrying another man’s child and she’s chosen not to tell Simon this, as she later does about his death.
It’s likely that Maisri is the real deal. She later shares that she didn’t want to tell Simon that she saw his death, and that death will be an execution. We know that Simon Fraser does later end up executed at the Tower of London for his involvement in rebellious uprisings, but there’s no way that he’d want to hear something like that!
Outlander: Blood of My Blood airs on Fridays on STARZ.
