There’s a serial killer doing the rounds in London in Miss Scarlet season 5, episode 2. Alexander Blake has his work cut out for him.
The new episode is titled “The Thames Reaper.” It’s an episode that will bring up some thoughts of Jack the Ripper. At least, for us, it will. Remember that we’re set just before Jack the Ripper terrorized the streets of London in the series, which means Scotland Yard has no idea that something like this could happen—at least, not on the level that it eventually did.
However Detective Inspector Alexander Blake will stop at nothing to catch the killer. It’s not going to be so easy, though.
Who is the killer in Miss Scarlet season 5, episode 3?
The episode will see Blake and Eliza deal with someone who is responsible for murder. This person drowns his victims in the murky waters of the Thames River, which is where he gets his nickname from.
The first season of the series was set in 1882. It does mean that we’re getting closer to 1888, when Jack the Ripper struck. It will be interesting to see if the series will end up touching on that considering we’re in London.
Back to the case on hand, though. Eliza will find herself caught between a showdown between Fleet Street and Scotland Yard. Naturally, everyone will want to protect their own and figure out who the murderer is.
Blake did end up accepting some of Eliza’s help in the previous episode. He didn’t really want to, but he could also understand that he was going to struggle to get anywhere with The Guild of Private Detectives. That doesn’t mean he wants to work with Eliza in the future, though. He may have no choice, as Eliza may be able to get into places that he can’t.
However, he’ll be protective of Eliza. While there are no romantic feelings, it’s clear that there is some respect growing. There is a bond forming, and Blake will be worried that Eliza could end up becoming the next victim.
