If there is one thing that Detective Inspector doesn’t want to do, it’s to work with Eliza. He may not get a choice in Miss Scarlet season 5, episode 2.
We had a chance to meet the new detective inspector in the Miss Scarlet season 5 premiere. He made it clear that he has no respect for the profession of private detectives. In his defense, he has had some bad experiences, but they’re not all that terrible, right? Eliza certainly isn’t.
While he doesn’t want to work with Eliza, she has decided she will continue her business. Now she needs to prove that she is someone Blake wants to work with in the future, and she may get that opportunity in the new episode.
The death of a private detective in Miss Scarlet season 5, episode 2
The new episode will see a private detective murdered, and naturally, those in the profession will want to solve the case. They will see this as a way to honor the murder victim, but they could also find that they’re welcomed into the work of Scotland Yard.
Eliza is one of those who wants to solve the case. She has the need to show Blake that he needs her, and in this case, he may actually need that. You see, by having no respect for private detectives, none of them are going to exactly help Blake solve the murder. They need to show that he can’t do it all himself. With Eliza needing a contract with the police, it’s not surprising that she wants to work with him instead of against him. She’ll want to prove that she’s nothing like all the others.
There is a short promo for the episode on PBS’s website. We get a look at what seems to be a threat made against Blake’s daughter. It wasn’t going to be long before someone found out that Blake had a daughter, but this isn’t a man who will take threats lightly.
Meanwhile, he wants a new secretary. Is this the opportunity that Ivy is being offered in the synopsis?
Check out the synopsis for Miss Scarlet season 5, episode 2:
"The Chairman of the powerful Guild of Private Detectives turns up dead. Blake finds himself working alongside Eliza whether he likes it or not. Ivy takes on a new opportunity, but what does it mean for her engagement to Mr Potts."
