Could we get cameos from the Outlander stars in Outlander: Blood of My Blood?

Outlander: Blood of My Blood is a prequel story, but is there a chance of cameos from some of the Outlander stars?

Outlander: Blood of My Blood is almost here, and it’s already been renewed for a second season. It makes it clear that STARZ has a lot of hope for this Outlander prequel series.

Of course, something that makes a spinoff a success is cameos from the original series. It’s much harder for a show like Outlander: Blood of My Blood to do that, though. In fact, I wouldn’t expect any cameos from the Outlander actors.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood is a prequel series

Something to keep in mind is that this Outlander spinoff is a prequel series. That means we’re seeing younger versions of the characters. We even know that there are actors taking on the roles of younger Colum MacKenzie, Dougal MacKenzie, Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, and many more.

The older actors are all from storylines about 30 years into the future. It wouldn’t make sense for any of them to show up, unless there was some sort of time travel involved. However, keep in mind that the characters in 1715 can’t time travel. They’re not the ones with the gene.

We could see characters during World War I time travel, but even that is unlikely. Of course, we know either Henry or Julia have the gene, but there are no stories that say they did go through stones at any point. Plus, it wouldn’t make sense in the main storyline, as we’ve not seen people like Claire or Brianna travel to World War I.

Voiceover narration could be used in the Outlander prequel series

There is one way to bring a sort of cameo to the series, and that’s through a voiceover cameo. It’s the way The Winchesters handled the Dean Winchester cameo for the most part, despite the series being a Supernatural prequel series. It’s not like Outlander hasn’t used voiceover narration in the past, so it wouldn’t take too many viewers out of the story.

Jamie has told Claire the story of his parents before, so we could get that sort of cameo. Alternatively, we could have a cameo of Murtagh telling Jamie of the story, and then maybe Claire thinking about the story of what her parents’ love story could have been like.

This would allow for more than a voiceover cameo as well. We could even see Murtagh sitting with Jamie and Claire to talk about Ellen, and then Claire thinking about what could have been. If there was going to be a cameo, the three of them make the most sense, but I don’t think it will happen.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood premieres on Friday, Aug. 8 on STARZ.
