Claire received the worst news possible, and now she has to marry again to protect herself and those close to her. Take a look inside Outlander season 7, episode 11.

At the end of the previous episode, Claire got the worst news she possibly could. She learned that Jamie had died at sea. At least, that’s what everyone presumes. He was on the ship’s manifest, and that ship went down—and there were no survivors.

Things took a turn when Captain Richardson told Lord John Grey that he was going to arrest Claire for being a spy. John had to do something to protect her, and that meant one thing: they have to marry. It’s time to see how this all plays out.

The promo and synopsis is available. Take a look at them, and then get ready for our breakdown:

“Claire turns to John Grey for comfort as they process difficult news; Ian and Rachel discuss their love and their future; Brianna confronts an intruder at Lallybroch.”

We’re heading back to Lallybroch in Outlander season 7, episode 11

We’ve already spent some time at Lallybroch in two time periods over the last two episodes. Well, we’re heading back there once more. This time in another time period.

After not being in the story last episode, Brianna is back in Outlander season 7, episode 11. There’s an intruder in her home. Since we know that Rob Cameron isn’t the fairy man in 1739, is it possible that he’s still somewhere in the present day?

Claire has no choice but to marry

Claire learned at the end of the previous episode that Captain Richardson will arrest and hang her as a spy. Of course, with Jamie gone, she doesn’t care all that much. It’s only because of the threat to Young Ian, Rachel, and others that she has agreed to marry Lord John Grey.

It looks like that will happen in the new episode. Claire is dressed and walking out to the carriage. Lord John Grey is back in his uniform for his second wedding. There is a scene toward the end of the promo that shows Claire and Captain Richardson dancing. Will he utter some sort of threat now that she's married John?

William isn’t happy about Lord John Grey’s intentions

We’ll get to see William again in Outlander season 7, episode 11. He is not happy with John’s idea to marry Claire. John points out that Jamie was a dear friend, but William points out that Jamie was a rebel.

There’s a lot of anger in William considering John is marrying Claire. It seems a little odd considering the kindness William has previously shown Claire. What’s really going on? What has William learned?

Claire and Lord John Grey get closer

Claire and John have come a long way since they first met in Outlander season 3. They didn’t like each other because of each other’s connection to Jamie. It was only in season 4 that the two understood each other better. Now they are friends, although not quite on the same level as Jamie.

John isn’t just marrying Claire because of his friendship with Jamie. He’s marrying Claire because he knows it’s the right thing to do, and it’s going to draw the two of them closer in the new episode. Exactly how close? We just have to look at the title of the next episode to get a few clues, right?

Young Ian and Rachel consider what to do next in Outlander season 7, episode 11

We’ll also get more of Young Ian and Rachel. She is by Young Ian’s side as he places a stone on a funeral mount. Young Ian is mourning the loss of two important people in his life: his father and his uncle. Rachel shows her love and support by being there for him.

They will need to discuss their future together, though. They’ve declared their love for one another, so what’s next? Is this what William is actually angry about?
